3 Reasons to Visit Grand Bend

Grand Bend also commonly know as “the Bend” or “GB” is a community located on the shores of Lake Huron in Southern Ontario. This town is a popular tourist destination thanks to it’s great beaches and lively night life.

The year round population hovers around the 2 000 mark, but summer weekends see that number swell to something more like 50 000. The summer party atmosphere has earned The Bend a reputation of being Florida North.

If you make the trip down, make sure to check out:

1. The Motorplex: Grand Bend’s Motorplex is Canada’s largest multi use motorsports facility. It features a record breaking dragstrip as well as 2 competitive motocross tracks. The dragstrip plays host to Canada’s largest and oldest National Drag Race.

People often make race days into race weekends. The Motorplex includes an onsite motorhome area and campground that are packed with revelers during the long weekends. If gas fumes and loud powerful motors are your thing – there are few places better in all the country to get your fix than Grand Bend’s Motorplex

2. The Beach: With it’s climate and rocky nature, Canada isn’t exactly world renown for it’s beaches. Grand Bend is the exception to the norm, as it is well known for it’s great beach areas. It is part of the “West Coast of Ontario” which is home to hundreds of miles of open beach.

The shores of Lake Huron are beautiful – the white sands and blue water will make you think you took a vacation far south of the border. Long weekends find the beaches full of sunbathers and swimmers. It is a lively and fun atmosphere. Currently, Grand Bend is working on a Beach Enhancement project that will make their beach area even cleaner, more natural and add more family space.

3. The Wexford Shipwreck: The Wexford was a steel hulled freighter from Great Britain. It was hauling steel beams in the Great Lakes when it was caught in the legendary Great Lakes Storm of 1913. This storm, also known as the “Big Blow”, was a blizzard with hurricane level winds. It raged for three days and was responsible for the deaths of 250 people and the destruction of 19 ships.

The Wexford was found in 2000, 87 years after the huge storm. It is located off the shores of Grand Bend – it is about 75 feet under water. That makes for an intermediate level scuba dive. Curious scuba divers have been coming to Grand Bend to get a look at this sunken ship which is still fully intact.

Grand Bend is a rapidly growing community – it is no wonder why. From quiet unassuming small town in winter, “GB” transforms into trendy tourist destination in the summer. The town caters to tourists with interesting attractions like museums and quality dining.

The Motorplex assures that big name talent will continue coming to entertain Grand Bend and the Beach Enhancement project will make sure the town keeps it’s Florida North feel.

Reasons For Playing Fantasy Card Games

Many of you may be the same as me, who invest in war games at the very early age. War games are great ways for us to have fun and the answer for our need of creating fun. This naturally directed gamers to electronic gaming. Responsible establishments might lead us to enjoy the games, however there are still some shame that remained when playing electronic games.

Comparison to video games

Among the most successful fantasy card games released in the last 16 years that I have played are Legend of the Five Rings, Pokemon, and Star Trek CCG. Many of these have been regrettably redesigned into computer games. I don’t dislike video games for the reason that they are like a sibling to physical games, as both of them are a combination of the same ideas, but they both have opposite results in human development. It shouldn’t go unsaid that the money spent on either is about the same. Contrasting production of digital games to fantasy card games; in 1996, 616 computer games and 17 fantasy card games were produced. I gathered this information from GamesAreFun.com and Wikipedia.org.

Influenced by Family and School

I suppose it’s do to the fact that fantasy card games assist social interaction and planning that I remember being encouraged to play board games by my teachers at a young age, and was even cheered for when I volunteered to be the score keeper. I once had an assignment in elementary school for math class to create a board game. This was the first and probably the last time I ran home excited to start an assignment. The game I created was naturally my first of what would soon be lots of fantasy card games. This was the nudge to begin a long road for me, because I didn’t stop creating, even though the majority of what I thought of was forgotten. Besides playing fantasy card games, school got me reading and writing fantasy books including The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Computer games still win out over books because there are roughly 9000 results in the database on isbndb.com for the fantasy genre, but 25 thousand listings at gamesarefun.com.

Socially allowing fantasy card games.

Fantasy has been more and more abundant as a genre for movies over the last 20 years. According to listings at IMDB.com, the ratio of fantasy titles among all other genres was 1/57 before 1990 and has increased to 1 of 26 and one out of 23 during the last 2 decades respectively. Despite this rising production rate it seems to me that fantasy card games are still thought of as ‘uncool’. An opinion that doesn’t go unnoticed by those of us who play fantasy card games. My own friends can be sifted into two groups of gamers; the closet gamers, and the proud promoters of individuality. While one of these groups will larp about in the park, the other sticks himself out of the way and conceals the title of his book.

Partially, writing this is an attempt to change which type I fall into and enter the realm of those who shamelessly love fantasy card games. I hope we will all abandon the prejudice that fantasy is desirable in computer games and T.V., but not preferable in physical games. But my real goal is for all of us to turn off the computer screen and try out a better game.

Here are some videos of strategic fantasy card games that highlight most of positive qualities abundant in fantasy. If you’re looking to talk with a gaming community there is a forum prepared at this website that is specifically for fantasy card games.

4 Reasons Cheating Does Not Have to Lead to Divorce

There are so many reasons people cheat and just as many reasons that cheating does not have to lead to divorce. Divorce should always be the last resort in a marriage. It is what should happen after all other possibilities have been explored. It should not be the default solution for the first sign of trouble.

In many relationships, an affair, or cheating is generally the first easily recognized sign of trouble. There were probably others that you can see clearly in hindsight but when you were in the thick of things it probably took cheating to make you sit up and really see where your relationship has been going for quite some time.

It hurts when you are the one being cheated on. There are few things in life that will hurt you more deeply than that. But, a cheating spouse is not necessarily a sign that your marriage is over. Cheating does not have to lead divorce now or ever. Buy, why doesn’t it?

1) Because marriage is about so much more than just the good times. Marriage is a series of rocky roads with twists and turns and lumps and bumps. It is not a smooth path and it certainly isn’t the final destination. Sometimes, it takes the really dark and painful times in your marriage to truly appreciate how wonderful your marriage and your spouse really is.

2) You owe it to yourself to try and make your marriage work. You took a vow and that vow meant something to you. For better or worse. Now definitely qualifies as one of the worse moments but for you, it’s just not enough to merit breaking the vows you made.

3) You believe the family you created together deserves a second chance. Normally there are children involved in the marriage by the time cheating takes place. You want your children to have the love of both parents to guide them through their young lives. It’s important to you and you know, deep down inside, that it’s important to your cheating spouse too.

4) You know, without a doubt, that you and your spouse still love one another. You may have lost your way a bit or been blown off course but you know your future lies together. There is no more compelling reason than this that cheating does not have to lead to divorce. At the end of the day you only need one good reason to make the decision to make your marriage work.

Have you already left your cheating spouse behind? It’s not too late to change your mind and get your ex back.

4 Reasons To Fight For Your Marriage After Cheating

You can probably think of a thousand different reasons for leaving after discovering that your spouse has cheated. There are all kinds of reasons to walk away and call it quits. But, there are four reasons to fight for your marriage after cheating that might trump them all. Only you can decide whether or not your marriage is really worth saving and you need to think long and hard before going to the effort. Keep these things in mind while you mull over your decision to stay or go.

1) Love. Love alone might not be enough if it’s one-sided but if you both really love each other then this marriage is definitely worth fighting for. You might have to take a little time and learn how to be good for and to one another but love is just enough to take a long hard look at the relationship before you decide you’re so willing to walk away.

2) Children. Your children are your world and there isn’t a lot you wouldn’t do for them. Staying in a bad marriage is not good for your children no matter who is trying to convince you of that. It is good though for your children to watch two parents who love each other work through a few bad patches along the way. You don’t want to teach your children that it is OK to cheat but they do not need to know what the problems in the marriage are. What they need to know is that you are working together (as a family) to get through these hard times.

3) Trust. While cheating is a huge betrayal of trust there are factors to be considered. Did your spouse come clean to you or did he or she try to cover things up? Is this the first time cheating has happened? Was it an ongoing relationship or a one time thing? Does your spouse even know why he or she cheated? Do you believe it will not happen again? This is a big deal. If you believe it will never happen again then you will be much better able to deal with the hurt and move forward in the relationship. If you’re constantly concerned it will happen again or feel that you can never trust your spouse again there is little hope of working things out.

4) Spouse agrees to work with you. No matter how much you want to do things on your own and work through this difficult time without the help of the one who has hurt you; it can’t be done. You are going to have to work through things together. You’re both going to have to make changes and work together to make sure that this never happens again. It won’t be easy. But if you are both willing to do your part it won’t be nearly as difficult as you’d think either.

There are all kinds of reasons you can convince yourself of to leave after you’ve been cheated on. If you’ve changed your mind and want to get your ex back after second or third thought there is a way to do it. Follow these step by step instructions: http://www.getyourexbacknow.com/just_break_up3.html and you’ll have the second chance you’re looking for.

About Cheating – 3 Reasons Women Start A Relationship

Do you have the short-term curse? Your relationship mysteriously disappears after a few months suddenly and youre single again? No matter how hard you try, you cant seem to get past that six-month disaster. Have you ever considered it could be the man, not the relationship? Do any of these situations sound like you or someone you know? There are three reasons women tend to get involved and start a relationship. They are:

– Loneliness
– Pressure
– Filling the Void

Wrong Reason 1 – Loneliness

You picked him up at the coffee shop with Wi-Fi. He was cool on his Apple. He drank the same latte as you. You both had a lot in common. It seemed like a perfect match. Except the only free time he has was for a quick cup of coffee or maybe a fast lunch. Its been fun for a few months. However, you decide you need more and guess what, he doesnt. Once again, its over. You picked a man to fill your lonely days but he has no time for you. If you create a relationship to fill time then you have too much time on your hands. Relationships are not fillers. If you commit to a relationship to fill your time, you are committing for the wrong reason.

Wrong Reason 2 – Pressure

Its a Friday night and all the girls have dates. Youre mother calls; shes in your ear about your biological clock ticking life away. You feel like you need a relationship immediately. You get dressed up and go gravitate towards the first guy that can hold a conversation. Six months later, you realize that you are terrified that he might actually ask you to marry him. Hes mean, hes rude, hes lazy and he has no respect for your friends. However, hes straight, handsome and has a great job. The minute you committed, you were doomed to fail. The relationship is based on the premise that having someone is better than having no one. Dont make that mistake.

Wrong Reason 3 Filling the Void

You woke up this morning and smiled. Your job is going great, that last 10 pounds doesnt look so bad on your backside. The coffee pot is on time and the coffee itself is perfect. You believe a man would complete your life. He can surely fill your empty gap. Wrong men should not complete you. Instead, they should compliment you. Its wrong to think a man will fill your void. The feeling of emptiness comes from within.

Do something that enhances you as a person. Put some joy in your life and shine in its glory. That glow will bring men to you. The expression of life and joy will shine through your eyes and that energy will attract men like a love potion. Set your standards and commit for the right reasons.

You have the power to make a man fall in love with you Don’t believe that you can leave your future to fate. However, if youre already in a relationship and need help keeping it going, you will learn a lot more by following the advice at http://www.howtomakeaguyfallinlovewithyou.com

4 Reasons Obsession with Video Games is Bad for Your Children

Video games are amazing in their depth and complexity, and online graphics have taken on a life of their own. But is it really such a good idea for kids to focus so much time sitting around indoors with their eyes glued to the screen? For some parents, it seems a lot better than them running around in the streets, and in certain areas there might be truth to that, but there are some risks involved as well.

Here are 4 of those risks for you to think about.

1. Exposure to Violence

While this certainly isn’t’ true for all video games, there are a lot of newer ones that contain extreme violence–and even worse, it’s downplayed because it is, after all, a game. The link between violent media and actual violence in real life is one that has been long debated but one thing is for certain–it’s not doing them any favors.

In other games, like Grand Theft Auto, criminal behavior is even glorified. At the very least, take a look at the graphic nature of the games you allow your child to play and choose wisely.

2. Distorted Sense of Reality

Too much time spent playing games can begin to distort a person’s reality. As children are growing, they are learning from the world around them and developing a perception of life. When their head is constantly stuck into a video game, that is their reality–therefore, over time they may develop a distorted view of what is right and wrong–or even what is real and what is not.

3. Time Wasted

For all those who complain about the violence and bad influences in games, I personally feel one of the biggest tragedies is how much productive time is wasted. All the time spent in this other reality takes away time they could be spending in this world right here–the real world.

Time they could be focusing on school. Time they could be getting much-needed sleep. Time they could be developing a passion for dance, art, or music. Time they could be forging lifelong human relationships.

4. Lack of Exercise

And finally, the one that seems to me the most obvious and yet so many parents seem oblivious to it–kids who are always playing video games rarely get the exercise they need. These games have become something like digital babysitters that we use to keep them out of our hair while we’re focusing on adult responsibilities. We begin to use it too much, and what happens is our kids go from sitting at school to sitting at home and that’s about it.

Kids need physical activity to grow into a strong, healthy human, and there are all kinds of other benefits associated with play that they miss out on. Video games actually do have their mental benefits as well, but a diversity of activity, especially physical, is important.

In the end, I’m not really saying to completely cut video games out of your kids lives. Just limit it and make sure they are using their time wisely. Time spent entertaining oneself in front of the screen is okay sometimes–just not all the time.

One great way to get your kid’s away from the video games is make the outdoors just as exciting. Check out wooden swing sets and other wood-crafted outdoor equipment at http://www.SuperiorPlay.com.
