Star Wars Clone Wars Grievous Spinning Lightsaber

With the Star Wars Spinning Electronic Lightsaber, Padawan learners aged six years and up can recreate the spinning effect made famous by General Grievous. This adjustable saber features realistic sound effects and customizable play options that provide plenty of Jedi adventure for your child. Expect to hear cheers of delight mixed with dueling lightsaber sounds when this spinning, light-filled set makes its way into your home.

A Jedi-Style Light Show – this one certainly is. It’s reasonably priced and fits the bill when the box comes to being just the right size for under the Christmas tree.

When your child presses the power button, the saber will flicker to life with either neon green or blue light. Just like the sabers in the Star Wars movies, the effect grabs your attention. If your child gives the saber a check-swing when it’s in collapsed mode, the saber telescopes and looks like its beam is energizing.

Action Sounds Galore

The saber’s realistic sound effects add to the excitement. When switched on, the saber crackles and hums. When your child moves the saber, a sensor within the handle changes the pitch of the sound slightly up or down to match the movements. And when brought into contact with another object, the saber crackles loudly as if emitting an electric charge. The effect will put everyone within earshot squarely in Jedi mood.
Spinning Fun for One or Two

With an electronic hiss and a clicking sound, the sabers snap into a central hoop-like ratcheting mechanism known as a gyro-grip. Once in place, the sabers can be held and spun propeller-style, just the way General Grievous does in the movie.

When it’s time to disconnect one of the sabers, you’ll hear a clever sound effect, and then the saber will be ready again for traditional Jedi-fashion dueling. The second lightsaber can be shared with a friend to increase the action and double the fun.

Easy-to-Use, Durable Design
The hilts of the Spinning Electronic Lightsaber are made of hard plastic that can stand up to rough and tumble play, while the translucent telescoping saber blades are soft enough to land painless blows during full-contact interstellar duels.

Children six years and older will be able to link both sabers together and successfully imitate General Grievous’ spinning move. For some parents, the temptation to power up this toy will prove too great to resist.

Modeled after the lightsaber wielded by the General Grievous character, this lightsaber splits into two, giving you four different configuration possibilities. Create a double-bladed spinning lightsaber, two single lightsabers, a single spinning lightsaber and a single lightsaber or a double-bladed light saber — all depending on what your “battle” requires. Press the buttons to “ignite” your lightsaber accessory and its glowing arc-wave “energy blades”.

LEGO Clone Wars

In 2008 LucasFilms released a movie based on the popular Mini Series of Star Wars called The Clone Wars. This full length feature film fills in a void left by Epiisodes I-III. Naturally, the LEGO Group had to follow up with a complete series of Star Wars LEGO Sets to compliment the film. The LEGO Clone Wars sets released are based on scenes from the film itself. As usual, LEGO does an excellent job of bringing these scenes to their wildly popular plastic building blocks. The following is a list of each of the Clone Wars LEGO systems released to date:

Hailfire Droid and Spider Droid 7670
MagnaGuard Starfighter 7673

Only time will tell if these LEGO Clone Wars sets are as popular and in high demand as previous Star Wars LEGOs but judging by sales so far for the systems, it is very likely.

Pedro is a big fan of the LEGO Clone Wars sets and is a collector of Star Wars LEGOs in general.

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is all action packed for the family

Lego has the ability of releasing games based on famous characters and movies that grapple the interest of both fanatics and indifferent people. Whether you have or have not watched the eponymous trilogy, the game will definitely tell you the story; and that too in a way, where you yourself uncover every scene and action.

The game is based on the television series of Star Wars, Clone Wars. However characters from the original movies also appear in the game. The game features both single player and multiplayer. The single player mode features different playable characters for different scenes. The player has to fight battles and solve puzzles among other tasks. The game contains twenty story based missions as well as forty bonus missions. And despite the endless number of missions in the game, Lego still maintains the humor that it so perfectly displays in the plots of all their games. Clone Wars also gives gamers the opportunity to try out their own real time strategies during the game in battles where characters command huge battalions.

The game’s graphics are quite breathtaking. It is more detailed and multi layered.  Game developers have even allowed players to explore the Star Wars universe in a way unlike the other Lego Star Wars games in the past. The highlights of the game are:

• Split Screen: Now in the multiplayer mode, the screen is split so that players can play their respective levels uninterrupted.
• Enormous Battle grounds: Massive battle grounds has increased the capacity of Battalions, and with increased improvements in graphics, the effect of fighting an entire battalion on the battle ground in the same screen is magnanimous.
• Scene Swap: The game allows you to swap scenes in the multiplayer split screen.
• Never before played Boss Battles: Boss battles have become even more challenging, with Boss characters being featured in enormous sizes, thus elevating the level of interest.

The game overall is repetitive.

Most of the elements of the previous Lego Star Wars games have been reused again in this game and modified to suit the plot. Hence, the game is not a complete stimulator of excitement. With the numerous missions, the game may even turn out to be dull for the player. However, the graphics are what saves the game from being a complete failure in the series. The 3D effect that it produces is worth playing game for. Star Wars fanatics may be interested to play this new game which has a different approach to the Star Wars story. However, they’ll be disappointed to see that the game emphasizes on the action instead of the story elements of the Star Wars saga. While the Lego Star Wars: Clone Wars versions playstation, xbox and Nintendo DS do not fare well in terms of gaming expectation with all the reasons as mentioned above, but the Wii brings some fun while playing the game (especially for kids) as it requires a more active participation in the game.
